Any drink that is made from herbal ingredients is a tisane and not a tea. Tea only comes from two main varieties of the camellia sinensis evergreen. This is both a tea and a tisane as it has both ingredients. There is one resealable pouch of 25 tea bags.
The ingredients are organic (black tea, hibiscus, licorice), raspberry, strawberry, natural strawberry extract, and natural blueberry extract. I assume this gets its 6.9 calories per cup from the extract in the blend. The country of origin is India. I did not realize this contained licorice or I would not have ordered it. Licorice should be avoided by those with high BP. Excessive consumption (whatever that means--perhaps several cups per day) of licorice tea can actually cause high BP.
I brewed one tea bag in 8 ounces (6.7 ounces is recommended) for 4 minutes. The brew came out a clear golden amber. The flavor is fruity and smooth and overall very good.
At the current price of $14.99 this comes to a price of $.60 cents per cup.
