Barberry root — daruharidra — takes its startling yellow from berberine, the compound that has kept it in Ayurvedic practice for three thousand years. It appears in the Charaka Samhita and the Sushruta Samhita, two of the founding texts of Indian medicine. We use Berberis aristata, the Indian species, rather than the European barberry found in most teas that carry the name.

Plant-based bio-mesh that decomposes naturally — no plastic, no microplastics, free from PLA, dyes, chlorine bleach and staples. The mesh gives whole roots the room they need to brew properly.

This blend contains barberry root and licorice root, both traditional Ayurvedic botanicals.
